Judge Eschol Graham was the original owner. He and his wife Eva Mae Smith lived there and in 1907 had a son, Duncan Graham. His wife died and in 1908, he married Frankie Williamson at that time he had moved his mother, Josephine Graham and his two sisters Eva and Abbie into the house. One daughter, Elizabeth was born in 1920.
There was a large well built garage not attached to the house. Later this garage was moved to the side of the house and attached with a gazebo. There was utility barn at the rear of the house which held coal and firewood as well as other supplies. The inclosed back yard housed chickens and another inclosure for bird dogs.
There were 3 ½ bathrooms, City water was used.
Laundry was picked up on Monday and Taken to the home of a servant who washed in an iron pot over an open fire. She ironed them and returned on Thursday, otherwise hand washing at home.
A large wood stove was used until The advent of an electric stove. The kitchen had Built in bins for flower and sugar. There Was a marble slab for making biscuits, etc. Page 1
He died in 1955, Frankie lived on. She sold the house to a lady whose name I cannot recall. The Rawlins bought it from her and served it well. Frankie died at the age of 101 at her daughter’s home in Orange Texas.
Mrs Graham had an unusual flower pit at the rear of the house where she Put here many plants in the winter. It was large and deep with steps going down, glass covered the top.
In 1937 when they remodeled one upstairs Bathroom was completely renovated in blue Tile. Floor furnaces were installed. There was a fireplace in each room And the house was furnished with early ?? Strachey Oak furniture. I still have Two pedestals and a china chest plus one Small desk and chair. The floors were all Long leaf pine above and below.
One of the best features was the large Front porch with swings at each end, And large white cane rocker where They spent many an evening.

The concrete walks around the house Were edged with coping. There were flower Gardens on the side and back of The house.
